I'm Ross Clayton, founder of ITEM.

For more than 25 years, I was the sole buyer for my previous retail brand, Vast Interior. In that time I built close relationships with some of Asia's most reputable sofa manufacturers, and I kept seeing the same thing: great furniture, sold at prices inflated by big showrooms and bigger marketing budgets.

ITEM is my answer to that.

We work with the same manufacturers that supply many of Australia's major furniture retailers. The difference is what we leave out. No sprawling showrooms. No sales floor pressure. No premium you don't need to pay.

Made better. We design in-house and work directly with our manufacturers, so every piece is considered from frame to finish.

Priced better. Our self-serve kiosks let you see, sit and feel the furniture for yourself, without the showroom mark-up built into the price.
